They say 30 per cent of couples fall in love at work – and a departmental move meant these two became a statistic.
Erin Bamba and James Sciuto, aged 29 and 30 respectively, met when this “small-town” boy hit the big smoke (Brisbane) to work at the same department as Erin. “I fell in love with him instantly, but for him, it was strictly a professional relationship,” explains Erin. “At first, we didn’t get along. We were two stubborn and strong-willed individuals.” Lucky for them both, James eventually gave in to Erin’s pursuit. “He even followed me to Lismore where I was offered a job.”
They married at their romantic wedding on February 20, 2016 at Gabbinbar Homestead, Middle Ridge, Queensland. But there was a road bump – or bump of sorts – in the lead up to the big day. “One-and-a-half years of wedding dress alterations and six months prior to the big day, we received news that we were pregnant with twin boys,” smiles Erin. It was back to the dressmaker for this bride!
The couple say they were most grateful that family and friends travelled far and wide to attend their special day. “We wanted the day to celebrate and thank those who we love,” says Erin.

“I love and appreciate Erin’s kindness towards others and her general happy, bubbly attitude towards life and its curveballs,” says James.
“I love that James gives me his strength when I am struggling to find my own,” says Erin.
