Netflix and chill leads to rustic vintage wedding in Perth

An afternoon of “Netflix and chill” for Cecelia Granland and Tarrant Elkington transformed into one of celebration when Tarrant popped the question!

The couple, aged 31 and 32 respectively, met through mutual friends and fell in love fast, travelling the world together just three weeks after they began dating. “We moved in together when we got home, six months later we were engaged,” explains Cecelia.

As the bride tells it, ‘Taz’ proposed during a cozy afternoon while curled up on the couch watching Netflix. “I told him not to joke about these things and he got down on one knee and produced my dream ring,” smiles Cecelia.

The Perth pair chose Fremantle Wesley Uniting Church for their ceremony with 65 guests, followed by Distribution Lane for their reception. “It’s a gorgeous heritage laneway with exposed brick, an open roof, wooden bar and copper lights, nestled between the buildings on Pakenham Street,” describes the bride. “It was like no other venue that we looked at… plus we got to dance under the stars, which was magical.”

The rustic vintage wedding on February 20, 2016 was a memorable day, thanks to the help of their suppliers. Cecelia’s advice for a smooth-running event is “trust the professionals … if anything goes wrong, they will know how to fix it.”

“Piotrek was wonderful to work with,” praises Cecelia of her photographer. “We forgot that he was there.”

“It’s been such a beautiful whirlwind, and I’m so grateful to have found my perfect someone who has flipped my life upside down in the most wonderful way,” praises Cecelia.
