A case of mistaken identity brought together Melburnians Emma Wittensleger and Daniel Young.
The duo, aged 26 and 27 respectively, were strangers when Emma contacted him on social media platform Myspace. Unfortunately for Daniel, it wasn’t a pleasant ‘Hi, how are you?’ greeting.
“I was seeing a guy who resembled Daniel rather too closely,” explains Emma. Her 17-year-old boyfriend was a so-called ‘player’, and when she came across Daniel’s Myspace account, she assumed it was her boyfriend leading a double life! Emma added who she thought was her boyfriend to confront him. “After an hour, Daniel managed to calm me down and prove he was in fact who he claimed he was, and we stayed friends,” laughs Emma.
Years later friendship blossomed into romance the couple were engaged after a hot air balloon ride in Melbourne. They married at their black tie wedding on September 17, 2016 with 220 loved ones by their side. A ceremony at Saints Peter and Paul’s Church in South Melbourne was followed by their reception at The Manor on High, Epping.
“Every one of our guests we spoke to afterwards told us they had the best time ever, their stomachs were filled and they danced nonstop. For us, that’s all we hoped for,” says the bride.
