When a little girl asked Marissa Redman to marry her daddy, how could she refuse?
Thankfully, Marissa knew this daddy, Mitchel Ramsbottom, as they had already been living together, happily in love. “When Mitch [a police officer] asked me to marry him it was perfect. We had just moved into our house…It was his birthday and I had just put his daughter to bed,” explains Marissa, a nurse, 27.
“When I went back into the living room to unpack more boxes, Aaliyah (his daughter) comes out and asks me, “Rissy will you marry Daddy?” I turn around there is Aaliyah holding the ring looking at me with the biggest smile and Mitch was on one knee behind her!”
Their love had moved quickly, with Mitch, 29, moving in with Marissa 11 months prior after just four weeks of dating. The pair met at party, agreed to meet for coffee and then “four weeks later Mitchell the tall handsome moved in,” laughs Marissa.
Their golf club wedding in Kangaroo Valley, NSW, on November 22, 2014 was the perfect venue for Mitchell’s love of the sport. “It had an onsite reception, so no one had to drive once they arrived, and furthermore the boys can play golf before the wedding,” says Marissa.
The pair honeymooned in America, visiting Hawaii, Vegas, San Francisco, LA and Disneyland.

Marissa’s gown from The Sposa Group brought tears to her eyes. “As soon as I tried this gown on I got goosebumps all over my body and the tears started to flow.”
Aailyah loved her tulle dress.
“The view is spectacular,” Marissa says of Kanagroo Valley Country Golf Club.
