Weddings are all about the bride and groom, but Alicia Kelly was lucky enough to also make her big day with Mark Wiese about bonding with her mum.
“Mark works away and all my bridesmaids live interstate and overseas so it was up to my mum and I to plan the wedding,” Alicia explains. “One of the most enjoyable parts was having my gown designed for me by Brad at Darb Bridal Couture. Mum and I always looked forward to our fortnightly dress fittings and now I feel a little lost that our day has been and gone.”
Alicia, 27, and Mark, 34, were married with their classic wedding on November 8, 2014. The Landing at Dockside, Kangaroo Point was the chosen location to exchange vows. Alicia says the most important aspect of the day was the make sure everyone had a good time, with a focus on music and good food. Mark’s sister even sang at the couple’s ceremony.
And for the icing on the cake, the couple got a sneak peek of their images. “One of the most special moments of the day was when our photographer showed a selection of our photos from the day as a slide show to all our guests,” smiles Alicia.
Alicia’s gown from Darb Bridal Couture was genuinely one-of-a-kind with the designer working to create her dream dress.
Mark’s dad married the couple.
“We had 102 guests with many coming from interstate and my bridesmaid from Dubai,” smiles the bride.
Alicia’s advice to brides-to-be is to relax on the day and “take it all in”.
