Although Danielle managed to foil Tony’s surprise hot air balloon ride, there was another surprise waiting for her.
“It was when our balloon drifted away from the other group and flew over a massive grass field that we saw two guys running to unroll a banner asking the big question. Completely surprised and without hesitation, I said yes!” recalls Danielle.
The pair held their ceremony in a church that Tony grew up attending, on April 7, 2018, with 140 of their closest friends and family.
At the suggestion of their photographers, the Sydney couple had an unplugged ceremony so the guests could be present, with the added bonus was there were no mobile phones in the ceremony photos.
“We knew we wanted a simple wedding, with the approach and focus being an intimate celebration with our family and close friends,” explains the bride.
“Family and friends coming together for good food and good vibes, celebrating love. Nothing more we could have asked for and in our books, it was the best day of our lives!”

Using flowers that are in season for the bouquets helped the couple keep costs down.
“The high ceilings and the sandstone walls of the National Art School was the perfect backdrop for the foliage and florals we had in mind and suited the raw yet refined look that we were going for,” explains Danielle.
The couple opted for a band so the guests could dance to the music all night long.
