Their first meeting was likely thousands of feet off the ground.
Megan Wilson and Matthew Nobes, both 30, met working in the airline industry. Matthew is a pilot and Megan, now a legal admin, used to work as a flight attendant. “We knew each other for many years before going on a date and getting to better know each other,” explains Megan. “We only had one date and the rest is history.”
As Megan puts it, it was “straight to business” after the couple were engaged, deciding to skip the engagement party and dive straight into planning their modern Melbourne wedding. “This way we could put more effort, time and money into our wedding day,” she says.
The couple were married on August 29, 2014 with 110 guests as their witness. “There were lots of flowers in white and pastel hues,” describes Megan. “Our venue was quite modern which let us manipulate the style of the wedding exactly to our taste.”
The reception at Carousel in Albert Park was a great success, the couple says. “There is no better party than celebrating love with the people you hold closest to your heart,” smiles Megan.

Megan says her Karen Willis Holmes’ gown was a “dream to wear”.
“I absolutely loved Tizia and we are so happy with our photos,” says Megan. “I highly recommend her.”
“I still have people talking about the food at our wedding! I wish I wasn’t so nervous and ate a little more,” laughs Megan.
