Claire Jackman and Ryan Yeomans had to wait and see “if it was meant to be” before they could begin dating.
Claire was just 16 when she met 18-year-old Ryan at their local youth group. “He was one of the older ‘extra’ leaders who was incredibly confident, handsome and very kind,” smiles Claire. “The minister said ‘if it is meant to be, it will happen’, so we waited three years until I graduated to start dating.”
“Ryan was very ready and eager to get married, I was younger and more hesitant,” explains Claire. “Through persistence and patience he asked me to marry him four years later.”
Their romantic waterfront wedding on April 30, 2016 took place at Ripples Chowder Bay in Sydney with 90 guests, after a ceremony at Pymble Ladies College Chapel. The bride looked for opportunities to save where she could, including purchasing a sample sale wedding dress.
“The joy I had on my wedding day was indescribable, it was a day where Ryan and I were completely absorbed in one another, celebrating the joining of our two families and friends,” smiles Claire. “Our wedding was young, fun, refreshing and very beautiful.”
