Even before Andrew popped the question, Nicole had an inkling that Lyrebird Falls might just be the perfect venue to host their wedding celebration for 70 lucky guests.
The pair were walking on Port Arlington Beach when Andrew casually offered, “This is a nice spot. Would you like to be proposed to here?” Guessing he was asking for future reference, Nicole gave the all-important go ahead.
After a quick “Look! There’s a dog!” misdirect, Andrew swiftly dropped to one knee. Nicole responded with joy and slight disbelief. “I asked if he was kidding. When he said he wasn’t, I grabbed that ring and cried very hard,” remembers Nicole happily.
Despite an in-depth venue search involving a meticulously maintained spreadsheet, Nicole had her eye firmly set on Lyrebrid Falls. Touches of nature, romantic architecture, as well as both indoor and outdoor ceremony options, made this forest wedding venue the ideal choice for an intimate celebration.
In a heartfelt detail, Nicole and Andrew scheduled their wedding day on July 24th, 2022 which would have been the 60th birthday of Nicole’s late mother. Nicole also chose to wear her mother’s earrings and necklace (passed down from Nicole’s grandmother), which she paired with duck egg blue heels and a spectacular a-line wedding dress — complete with pockets!
On the morning of the wedding, Nicole and her five bridesmaids went about their beauty preparations with the help of Mobile Makeovers. In fitting with the old-world beauty of Lyrebird Falls’ aesthetic, hair was styled in soft curls with golden glam make-up to complement. Andrew wore a classic Ferrari Formalwear suit complete with navy tuxedo jacket featuring black satin lapels.
The couple arrived to their wedding in two matching white Chrysler Limousines by Melbourne luxury transport providers Amazing Limousines. Despite expecting rain, clear skies allowed Nicole and Andrew to exchange vows outdoors in Lyrebird Falls’ idyllic gazebo. Their ceremony was, as described by Nicole, “a true mix of love, humour, and, as expected, a sprinkle of cheese.”
Following photos in the surrounding gardens, Nicole and Andrew entered their ceremony to an outpouring of love and congratulations for their guests. Canapés and pre-dinner drinks proceeded a formal yet spirited three-course meal, before live music got everyone on their feet!
The feeling we got at Lyrebird Falls was unlike any other. Seeing the room set up, with the flowers on the tables and the music playing. It was so easy to picture us getting married there. The reception space was perfect, and the huge picture windows that overlooked the gardens gave us the touches of nature that were really important to us.
