We don’t think the small ring box hidden inside multiple bigger ones trick ever gets old! And it’s how Matthew Rosata chose to propose to his girlfriend of 18 months, Claudia Cavicchia.
“Once I opened it I was so overwhelmed I burst into tears,” smiles Claudia, 27. “It was actually really late at night and he had to go to sleep as he had to go to work the next day – I said to him ‘how do you expect me to sleep now?’” she laughs.
The couple were married on March 1, 2014 at their classic wedding in Melbourne. Although Claudia describes wedding planning as one of “the most stressful times”, she says the day couldn’t have run any smoother. “From the weather to the way everything ran so smoothly, we had the best day ever!”
Claudia says she and Matthew, 25, are a great balance as a couple. “He is pretty quiet and laid back while I’m pretty loud and over the top,” she smiles. “No one is perfect but we always try to communicate to each other because we love and care for one another very much.”
The bride’s shoes were from Fendi and the bridesmaids, Tony Bianco.
St John the Baptist Church in Clifton Hill is an old blue stone building with bell tower. Two hundred and ten guests sat inside to witness the nuptials.
Jag jaunts provided the classic cars. “There wasn’t really a theme but we went for an antique look,” says Claudia.
Claudia’s Diva Haute Couture dress was made by a familiar face. “Elysa is a very talented fashion designer/dressmaker who actually made my deb dress a long time ago,” says Claudia.
