Taking a chance on a blind date paid off for Adelaide pair Megan and Andy.
Megan, 27, says she was skeptical about the set-up through mutual friends, but on meeting Andy, 32, the connection was instant.
“He greeted me at my front door and we chatted the whole car ride there, I instantly felt comfortable in his presence, it was like we instantly clicked,” she recalls.
The pair became inseparable and moved in together just before their one year anniversary.
Andy popped the question while they were away in Fiji, a last-minute change of plan after their holiday to Bali was cancelled due to a volcanic ash cloud.
“We had a beautiful private dinner just us two on the beach overlooking the sunset, it was spectacular so unexpected and a memory I will treasure forever,” Megan says.
The couple were engaged for just over a year while planning their elegant rustic wedding at Serafino Winery in McLaren Vale, which was held on September 23, 2017.
The couple said their vows under a large gum tree in front of 85 loved ones before their reception in the venue’s courtyard space.
“It was a stunning venue with gorgeous photo locations, impeccable grounds with delicious food – it was everything we had both wished for,” Megan says.
“Andy and I wouldn’t change a thing about our wedding and we are extremely proud at what we achieved.”

The couple’s classic rings were sourced from Michael Hill.
Megan’s gown from Jenny & Gerry’s Bridal Centre was the first one she tried on. “I tried on soooo many after that and none of the others came close or compared to the first gown,” she says.
Megan advises future brides to try not to sweat the small stuff in the lead-up to and on the big day. “The only thing that matters on the day is that you are marrying the love of your life. It will be the best day no matter what happens,” she says.
“The thing I love the most about Andy is his very genuine kind nature. I love that he is the best dad to my stepson Blake and how he always makes me feel special,” Megan says.
“Andy says the thing he loves most about me is how much I understand him and how every day we grow closer no matter what life throws our way,” the bride says.
The venue’s rustic-style barrel hall was brought to life with foliage, flowers and plenty of fairy lights.
