“We met 26 years ago at a music camp when a relationship like ours was still taboo,” says Lisa, 52, of her wife Kerri, 51.
“We exchanged rings almost immediately and, in our minds, we were married,” she smiles. “In 2018 the law was finally passed and we were able to get married.” The pair wed at their elegant restaurant wedding on September 29, 2018 at Amoretti’s in Abbotsbury, NSW. “We never thought we would be able to marry as it was never looking like we would be able to legally. We decided that we would do it, to finally celebrate our years together and the life we have built together.”
Lisa says the suppliers and loved ones on the day made it everything they hoped for. “We have a dear friend in the industry who we called our ‘Fronke’ and she set us up with wonderful professionals who helped us to have our perfect day,” describes Lisa. “We were surrounded by our family and friends, who have always supported us, and we felt their love and it was amazing.”
