One kilometre of fairy lights and a whole lot of hard work brought to life the Whitsundays wedding of Stacey Alexander and Kevin Coats.
The Mackay couple, who met via the bride’s sister, married at Airlie Beach where Stacey spent a lot of time growing up. The ideal location was her parents’ house in a rainforest setting – but one minor detail, it wasn’t built yet!
The bride and groom, aged 24 and 29 respectively, worked hard to make their dream a reality. “So not only was planning a wedding, both studying and both working full-time not stressful enough, we also took on the responsibility of helping to get my parents’ house built before we said ‘I do’,” explains Stacey.
And despite still screwing in the deck three weeks before the big day, a fairy tale wedding was created just in time. “We strung a kilometre of fairy lights overhead and everything from the stationery to the dress was on theme,” smiles Stacey. “It took a lot of work and effort to get it to come together … but it turned out to be the most magical day.”
