Life’s a beach: Tionna and Maycon’s romantic wedding in California

Soaring palm trees, blue skies and a killer view of the beach set the scene for Tionna and Maycon’s romantic wedding in California.

“When we started planning our wedding we knew we wanted to put something classic and romantic together that represented our love for the beach, tied in Maycon’s Brazilian culture and gave a nod to my grandparents’ love story,” Tionna, 30, explains.

Ole Hanson Beach Club in San Clemente hosted the waterside celebrations, with Tionna and Maycon, 42, pulling off the planning for the romantic wedding within seven months.

“Luckily, working with a great planner led to so many great referrals that brought each detail to life,” Tionna says.

“We used candle holders, stemwear and other items from my grandparents’ 50th wedding anniversary celebration to add a personal touch and we found that music was a perfect way to bring in Maycon’s Brazilian roots and keep our Brazilian guests feeling at home.”

“One of our favorite details was the bougainvillea arch that tied in my childhood home,” the bride says.

Tionna’s gorgeous form-fitting gown was sourced from BHLDN.

“Music was a great way to pay tribute to my grandparents’ love story with songs like Fly Me to the Moon by Frank Sinatra and Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis Presley,” the bride says. “And even with a somewhat intimate group, that Brazilian music was great to make it a real party by sunset!”
