Kristy and Daniel’s Acacia Ridge Winery Wedding
Kristy and Daniel had a clear vision for their wedding: a relaxed, family-centric day where their two young boys could be involved, and their guests, many of whom were travelling, could seamlessly transition from ceremony to reception. For them, the venue was key.
“Daniel and I always wanted our ceremony and reception to be at one location to make it easier for our guests. We also wanted a venue that had an outdoor feel, and space for a separate cocktail area,” says Kristy. After searching, they found Acacia Ridge, which ticked every box. “It was the absolute perfect match on all fronts—a stunning venue with a relaxed feel,” she adds.
Their ceremony took place right beside the reception space, with a beautiful circle arbour adorned with florals. “We repurposed one of the arrangements for the bridal table,” Kristy notes. Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour with Aperol Spritz and Mojitos before being ushered into the reception space, while the bridal party retreated to the on-site cottage. “The cottage was an absolute blessing! It really helped us stop for a minute, catch our breath, and take it all in.”
Choosing Acacia Ridge felt like the perfect fit for Kristy and Daniel, especially for its family warmth and laid-back vibe. “We really wanted a venue that felt like ‘us’. It almost felt like we were having a wedding at a family’s private property,” Kristy explains. Growing up in the country, Kristy loved the venue’s relaxed, outdoor atmosphere, combined with modern amenities.
For Kristy, the most unforgettable moment was including their two boys in the ceremony. “Our four-year-old finished the ceremony with, ‘Daddy, you can now kiss Mummy.’ It was a moment we’ll never forget,” she recalls. Reflecting on the day, Kristy says her biggest regret was not hiring a videographer. “As we included our children, I now wish we had filmed it to look back on.”
Kristy’s top thanks? Cloth and Confetti for event styling! “They made everything so easy and really took the stress off,” she says.
Kelly from My Scandi Style is a superstar! She is so very down to earth and welcoming, which made it easy to be ourself in front of the camera. She blended in seamlessly as she worked the room. We didn't even notice she was there most of the time! The other thing we loved is that she stuck to the timeline and made sure she knew our priorities prior to the day, to ensure we captured everything we wanted to.
