Kristen and Sam love to mix traditional and contemporary style, so that is exactly what they did for their elegant wedding in Melbourne.
Following tradition, the couple wed at St Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church, South Melbourne, where the groom’s grandparents had walked down the aisle 73 years before.
The reception took on a more contemporary edge at one of the city’s newest finds.
“The reception was held at the recently opened Half Acre restaurant in South Melbourne,” Kristen says.
“We love the elegant, rustic features of the venue including the earthy timber panel feature wall and plentiful indoor greenery.”
The newlyweds hosted a formal candlelit dinner with long banquet tables decorated with white roses, foliage runners and tall vintage brass candle sticks.
“We partook in a shared menu style by Food and Desire who flawlessly catered for all dietary requirements,” the bride says.
The couple says they created an event to be proud of.
“We are so grateful to have been able to share in such a special day with our closest friends and family,” Kristen says.
“We are so happy with how our day came together.”
