An inner-city celebration with a breathtaking view was always on the cards for Khiara and Daniel’s wedding on April 15, 2023. Metropolis Events ticked all the boxes with ease.
“We knew that we wanted to keep things central, as I’m originally from Adelaide, so we’d have a lot of interstate guests,” explains Khiara. “Choosing a venue that was easily accessible was important to us. Metropolis Events, being nestled amongst the Arts Precinct in Southbank, was just that.”
Khiara and Daniel turned to Easy Weddings in their planning journey to source a dream team of vendors. “Our Easy Weddings package covered our celebrant, photographer, videographer, florist, transport, and photobooth — all of which were to the absolute highest standard of professionalism and experts at what they do. Dealing with Easy Weddings and having the single invoice made it a much more streamlined process.”
On the wedding day, Khiara and Daniel travelled to Metropolis Events in style with Amazing Limousines. “Amazing Limousines were a dream to deal with,” remembers Khiara. “Nothing was ever an issue, despite multiple schedule changes. James, our driver, provided an air of calm on the day, which was so appreciated. My bridesmaids, mother and I were so grateful for his level of care and professionalism; it really made an impact.”
In the presence of 112 friends and family, the pair were wed by celebrant Tim Barnes. “You can tell from the moment you meet him that Tim is one of those people who genuinely enjoys what he does, and that’s so important on a day as big as your wedding day,” says Khiara. “He’s there for you throughout the whole process, from initial meetings to writing your vows, to filing the official paperwork after it’s all done and dusted. Some of our guests have already contacted him for their own wedding!”
The ceremony took place in Metropolis Event’s Aviary Room, a beautifully modern space with high ceilings, a gold bar, and a private terrace overlooking the Yarra. After the ceremony, guests took in the views while enjoying canapes and champagne. When it was time for the reception, the team from Metropolis Events pulled the curtains back to reveal the Panorama Room. With nine-metre floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Melbourne CBD, plus a seventeen-metre dome ceiling, the space was adorned in blush and white florals by Little Gem Flowers.
Captured by photography and videography experts, Veri Photography, Khiara and Daniel celebrated in style with their guests. Metropolis Events catered the three-course wedding feast before a white chocolate mud cake with biscoff ganache was served. “It was some of the best wedding food our guests have ever had,” says Khiara. “We know this because multiple guests made a point to tell us!”
Metropolis Events had a level of grandeur that no other venue could compare to, and the sweeping views of the city made it an easy choice. There is nothing we would change. Everything went perfectly and if we could do the day over and over again, we would in a heartbeat!
