For her and Rick’s rustic wedding on August 3, 2019, bride Kathryn discovered her dream venue at a wedding expo on the Gold Coast.
The countryside venue, Braeside Events, was the perfect setting for the 32 and 34-year-old’s union, held in the tranquil gardens often described as the place where country charm meets modern elegance in the centre of the Gold Coast.
The wedding party and couple’s photographer, Leigh Warner, were granted exclusive access for the day, allowing plenty of time to explore the grounds and find the perfect shot. At the reception, highlights included delicious food, hot chocolate wedding favours and a choreographed first dance made all the more special with dry ice and indoor fireworks.
Credit to the bride, plenty of DIY elements featured throughout the day. “We made the girls’ bouquets the night before the wedding. The reception centrepieces were a wooden round vase with baby’s breath, willow branches and two tea light candles. On the bridal table, I had empty vases and handle holders — allowing the girls to place their flowers in the empty vases to make the table.”
“It was a Fairy Tale come true,” says Kathryn. “Not one thing went wrong. I would get married all over again and not change a single thing.”
