It was only a matter of time before Brisbane locals Kate Fazel and Peter Harry met – both working in the field of saving lives.
“I’m a registered nurse and Pete is a paramedic – we met through work,” explains Kate, 31. “It was bound to happen I guess.” Just two years into their relationships, they were engaged and chose Noosa North Shore for their vintage wedding.
Kate says Pete, 28, was the perfect groom! “We worked so well as a team to create a magnificent day that neither we nor our guests will forget,” she says. “Pete was really supportive throughout the whole process and was happy to take on as many ‘blue’ jobs as I threw at him.”
Their love of cheese dictated a few of their wedding day choices, including the menu and the bomboniere. “We thought a cheese knife would be a perfect wedding favour,” smiles Kate. “We wanted a gift for our guests that would mean something, would be a fantastic keep sake and wouldn’t end up in the bin.”
Kate’s advice to other brides is to choose a venue which will let you enjoy the night for as long as you please. “We were lucky enough to not have a finish time and danced the night away until 3.30 in the morning!”
“The bouquets and buttonholes were created by a friend who owns a wholesale florist,” Kate says.
Kate says family-owned business Michael Innis Menswear were outstanding in dressing the groom and his crew.
Kate purchased a pair of Vera Wang shoes from the designer’s more affordable collection, Vera Wang ‘White’.
