The rolling hills of Note Park Weddings set the scene for a romantic rural affair for Karlie and Mark — plus 90 lucky guests — on April 15, 2023.
Karlee was already dreaming of a rustic country wedding before she arrived at Note Park Grazing Co. with her then-fiance Mark. “Growing up in the country, I always dreamt of a farm wedding with barrels, hessian, timber and baby’s-breath,” the bride explains.
The couple, whose first date and romantic proposal story were both set on Mark’s family cane farm, instantly adored the rural beauty of Note Park Grazing Co. “We adored the rural surrounds with green hills, cattle, and cane,” says Karlee. “We knew that was our dream reception venue; it simply had everything we wanted.”
Karlee and Mark opted for a traditional St Francis Xavier Catholic Church ceremony. The bride wore a body-skimming gown with an open neckline and scooped v-neck back in illusion lace tapering into a flowing train. The pair were accompanied by bridesmaids in emerald green dresses and groomsmen wearing black jeans and cowboy boots.
After the ceremony, the guests travelled to Note Park Grazing Co. “We wanted the reception to kick off straight away — no waiting around!” says Karlee. As their loved ones enjoyed grazing platters, drinks, and music, Karlee and Mark posed for their wedding portraiture session with photographer Alyce Holzy. In keeping with the rustic aesthetic of the day, Alyce used farm machinery, livestock, and the wide, open spaces of Note Park as a backdrop.
“I wanted bright and natural photos. That’s definitely what I received from Alyce,” says Karlee. “Alyce captured our wedding so beautifully, from the posed shots to the natural photos of just us laughing and enjoying our night. Honestly, Alyce is just so sweet. We couldn’t have chosen someone better. Plus, we got our sneak peek back so quickly with 120 photos!”
Arriving to an excited crowd, Karlee and Mark entered their reception at 6pm. A roast dinner was served before the couple took to the dancefloor in his and hers’ cowboy boots for a romantic first dance.
When we first viewed Note Park, surrounded by green hills, cattle and cane, we knew that was our dream reception venue. What can we say, it just had everything we wanted. Once our florist had worked her magic, it was even more perfect.
