On a bluebird day in Sydney Kalina Cooper married her beau Joel Smallwood in front of 115 loved ones.
The pair wed at their St Philip’s Church ceremony, followed by a reception at waterfront venue L’Aqua on Cockle Bay Wharf on August 12, 2017.
The flight attendant, 24, and carpenter, 27, had been together for five years after meeting in high school. “We became friends but never dated until one night we were both at the same party and things just clicked,” explains Kalina. They have been living together for 12 months and due to Kalina’s job have been lucky to travel all over the world.
The classic wedding was trouble-free and “the most amazing day of our lives,” smiles Kalina. They were blessed with perfect weather, leaving them with photos by Ben Newnam Photography that match their perfect day. The bride’s advice to brides-to-be is not to sweat the small stuff, “it’s going to be the best day ever no matter what”.

The bride wore elegant enclosed pointed heels with lace from Mishey Australia Pty Ltd, and dainty earrings from Fletcher and Grace.
Kalina’s bridesmaids wore identical royal blue gowns, full in length with an off the shoulder style.
The bride and groom say they are “truly in love” and can’t wait to spend their lives together.
