Planning a rustic farm wedding requires one very important detail – a rustic farm.
Kailyn, 31 and Joshua, 28, were lucky to find just that in the Boomerang Farm at Mudgeeraba in Queensland. “The farmhouse had the rustic charm I was chasing and it just so happened to sit alongside a nine-hole golf course which had Josh sold immediately,” explains the bride. “There were countless perfect spots for photos throughout the grounds and the ceremony and garden party location could not have been sweeter.”
Four weeks out from their wedding on April 29, 2017, the venue was completely inundated during an extreme weather event. “The water was right up to the roofline and damaged all the electricals and furniture stored on site,” recalls Kailyn. “The team at Boomerang Farm were amazing and managed to recover the venue so well that no-one could believe the before photos.”
The couple returned from their honeymoon in Fiji, and used their wishing well money to welcome a puppy into the home. They are now expecting their first baby!

“I love crystals and wanted to work them into the wedding somehow so found some beautiful crystal and pearl pieces,” says the bride.
“The dress was actually a sample that I tried on and fell in love with,” says Kailyn.
McGee Entertainment provided music at the couple’s beautiful ceremony.
“The boys picked out their outfits together without any input from the bride,” smiles Kailyn.
“The planning had run so smoothly that I was convinced the day too would be perfect, and it was,” recalls the bride.
