Nicole Bierwirth and Chris Filer married at their golf course wedding on March 25, 2017 with a short and sweet ceremony, and epic after-party.
The pair, aged 26 and 27 respectively, celebrated at Eagle Ridge Weddings in Victoria with their 91 guests on a cloudy autumn day.
Same-sex marriage is very close to their hearts, and that was made clear in their tailor-made ceremony service. “Both Chris and I believe in marriage equality and given my brother is in a same-sex relationship, we wanted to acknowledge that we hope in the future they are also able to marry,” explains Nicole.
The couple praised Corey Wright Photographer for capturing those candid moments throughout their special day. “I was so adamant I wanted photos at the beach and even though it took a bit longer by the time we finished up at Eagle Ridge, the results were just magical,” says the bride. “We were after a natural style that captured the emotion of the day.”
Nicole has expressed to other brides and grooms-to-be to book suppliers as far in advance as possible. “I would perhaps try to be slightly more proactive as I underestimated how far in advance wedding suppliers do book out, and this did become a little stressful,” she explains.

Chris headed to Andre J Menswear for a blue lounge suit teamed with blush tie.
The couple chose an outdoor ceremony option in front of Eagle Ridge‘s lakeside rotunda.
Nicole’s Allure Bridals gown was a mermaid style with intricate lace over a champagne underlay and long train.
LR Limousines transported the newlyweds on the day, adding an elegant touch to photographs.
“The top tier was white fondant, middle tier was gold leaf and the bottom tier was white rose ruffles,” the bride says of their cake.
