From the get-go, Jessica and Ryan wanted their bohemian wedding to be intimate and unique to them only. Their dreams were realised on a sunny November 16 day in 2019.
“Our wedding was a beautiful collaborative effort at a country retreat Air BnB property in the Yarra Valley that we booked for four days to have a staycation around our wedding,” explains the bride. “Guests were asked to pick two songs each for our playlist, and bring a dish in lieu of wedding gifts.”
The couple, aged 29 and 33, tied the knot amongst friends and family, several of whom had flown to Melbourne from Jessica’s hometown in the UK to be in attendance.
“Everyone felt like they were a very important part of our special day, which was what we wanted,” says Jessica. “It was so incredibly personalised and different. We spent more time than we did money to make a day that was a celebration of our lives and the people we share them with. It was a beautiful collaboration of love.”

The newlyweds exchanged rings purchased from Bevilles Jewellery.
“Ryan proposed on Christmas morning in 2018, when we went to visit my family in the UK,” says Jessica. “He did it so they could share a special moment in our lives, when they miss out on so much of it.”
