By the time young lovers Jemma Tooney and Zac Hansen walked down the aisle they had already achieved many of the goals other couples are dreaming of.
The Orange, NSW pair have a seven-month old daughter and have just bought their second house.
Jemma, 21, and Zac, 24, met when Jemma was still at school and Zac was an apprentice electrician. Three years later, Zac proposed “at the most beautiful place we have ever stayed,” describes Jemma, while they were holidaying in Love Cabins’ treehouse in the Blue Mountains.
Being a stay-at-home mum, Jemma took a DIY approach to their rustic wedding, held on March 11, 2017.
The couple married at St Joseph’s Church in their hometown, in front of 115 friends and family, before the reception celebrations at Highland Heritage. Jemma had created the lolly buffet, crafted the invitations and made most of the rustic-style decor for the big day.
“It saved money and meant more money for flowers!” she says.
The couple says seeing everyone enjoying themselves was one of the highlights of the rustic wedding.
“Everybody had a great day and night, everyone was very relaxed and everything went smoothly as planned,” Jemma says.

For her bridesmaids, Jemma chose multi-way gowns from Bridesmaids Etc. “The dresses were beautiful and were great quality,” the bride says.
