Perth couple Maria-Clara and Amir paid homage to their Italian and Persian backgrounds by creating a luxe cultural wedding for all to enjoy.
“Our wedding was a mix of our cultures,” says Maria-Clara, 33.
As a Catholic Italian, Maria-Clara’s heritage was honoured on September 30, 2017 with a church ceremony witnessed by 70 guests at St Patrick’s Bascilla in Fremantle.
Later at their reception held at The Boatshed Restaurant in South Perth, the pair incorporated Amir’s Persian family heritage with an authentic Persian Sofreh Aghd – a spread whereby legal marriage and ceremony traditions are exchanged in Iran.
“We love our cultures and were so proud to incorporate both in the most amazing day.”
Maria-Clara and Amir, 34, advise couples embarking on their wedding planning journey to relax and enjoy the day. “Take in every moment because it’s only happening once! Ours went so fast.”
Thankfully, Maria-Clara says, the pair have their stunning photos captured by Geoffrey Liau and their wedding video by Launch Film Productions to remember their day.
“Our wedding was everything we dreamt of with our relatives and close friends.”

Maria-Clara looked every bit the princess in her Collezione Bridal Couture gown and handmade crystal neckpiece.
