They describe themselves as “ordinary country people”, but there was nothing ordinary about this couple’s wedding day.
Carly Pollard, 29, and Mark Irons, 28, married with their country garden wedding on October 25, 2014. “Mark and I are two ordinary people from the country,” says Carly. “Our wedding was a true reflection of us – relaxed, natural, and beautiful.”
Their chosen location of Milawa, Victoria, wasn’t an accidental one. “Milawa is a special place to me,” explains Carly. “This is where my mum grew up with her four siblings on a small farm, and my mum and dad got married in Milawa 25 years ago in the little red brick church,” says Carly.
The bride and groom worked hard to create the perfect atmosphere, making the most of the surrounding natural beauty of vineyards and picturesque hills. “The trees were decorated with hanging rustic barbed wire hearts, and the timber arbor was decorated in clusters of billowing Gypsophillia.”
The country styling continued through to the reception at Brown Brothers Winery, with centrepieces made of clusters of spring pastel blooms with white and pink snapdragons, ranunculus and scented sweet peas.

Carly and Mark were married under the old oak trees at Brown Brothers Winery.
“My bridal bouquet was a loosely structured organic style bouquet of miniature heirloom roses in cream tones,” says Carly.
Carly’s bridesmaids wore champagne knee length lace dresses from Review.
Carly says she fell in love with Mark’s blue eyes.
