If Rebecca and Zac tell you they met while climbing Mt Everest – it’s safe to say they aren’t telling the truth.
“We love to tell people wild stories of how we met, but really it was at church,” laughs the bride. The Perth couple opted for a country wedding on March 28, 2015 with 125 guests. Religion runs deep in the family so it made sense to marry in the same sort of space in which they met.
“We chose to get married at the church in Zac’s hometown,” explains Bec. “Zac’s grandfather helped build the church, his parents got married there and his dad is currently the pastor of the church.”
The pair wanted to make sure it was an easy, carefree day for themselves and their guests. And despite some delayed make-up artistry, a lost wedding car and a truckie blocking the road – which all made Rebecca late for her own ceremony – the day was smooth-running. “Thankfully, Zac was still there and everything else went without a hitch,” she says.
Bec adds, “While we had our photos, the venue hosted a killer afternoon tea complete with champagne and archery. We also arranged for a friend to pick up all the guests from the afternoon tea in a school bus and take them to the reception and drop them back into to their accommodation after the reception ended.”

Bec found her true love gown at Raffinato Bridal.
“Jason did an amazing job of capturing the day,” praises Bec.
The couple sourced their wedding rings from Michael Hill Jeweller.
Zac “very kindly” learnt how to dance for the couple’s wedding. “He lifted me not once, but twice!” says Bec.
