After meeting Cameron Perrin online, and having their first date at a little bar in Sydney, Hine Te knew she definitely wanted to see him again.
Things moved quickly for the pair, now both aged 36, and before they knew it, they were travelling overseas together. Three years later, Cameron proposed to Hine during Vivid – Sydney’s outdoor light festival – and treated her to a private water taxi that ferried them around the harbour to watch the spectacular light show.
It seemed only fitting then, to hold their black and white wedding overlooking Sydney Harbour.
On April 15, 2017 the pair said ‘I do’ at the Royal Botanic Gardens, witnessed by 107 family and friends. Their guests were then treated to a reception at five-star hotel Pier One Sydney with incredible views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Lunar Park.
“I am truly a lucky girl!” says Hine. “It was an amazing wedding in an amazing city.”
Hine advises couples embarking on the same journey to “chill out, don’t stress about things you can’t control.” And if she could change anything about the day, she says, “perhaps have the wedding a little earlier, so we had a bit more time for photos.”

Simona Janek Wedding Hair & Makeup had previously done a friend of Hine’s makeup for her own wedding – so Hine knew she had to use her, too! “She knew how to make me look gorgeous,” she recalls.
Hine’s lavish gown was a Galia Lahav design from Eternal Bridal. “I wanted something very glamorous with lots of intricate beading and lace,” recalls Hine. “I truly felt like a princess!”
Adam Straney officiated Hine and Cameron’s marriage. “Adam was awesome – he was light-hearted, made it out like he’d known us for a long time, and made the crowd laugh!”
The pair wanted to have their wedding down in Sydney’s magnificent harbour. “Where better than the beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens?” says Hine. “It was an amazing location for our photos.”
Groom Cameron dressed to the black and white theme in a Ted Baker tuxedo, complete with bow tie.
Hine’s bridesmaids wore black lace dresses for the black and white theme. “I didn’t want traditional bridesmaid dresses,” she says. “I preferred a more fashion-forward look.”
Roll Up In Style provided the luxurious wedding transport for the day. “Our Bentleys were so beautiful and classic, which perfectly matched our theme!” says Hine.
Impression DJs set the party mood for the celebration ahead.
“It was the first time our friends and family had been together in one room, and the atmosphere was nothing but love and fun. I’d been dreaming of this since I was young.”
