Amie and James, both writers, celebrated their romantic bohemian wedding at their favourite coffee shop on December 15, 2018.
“We wanted a small wedding with lots of coffee, very good wine and good food,” explains Amie.
“It was all flat whites and champagne, with our nearest and dearest cramped in the cafe and it was perfect.”
The Sydney pair, both aged 27, said ‘I do’ in the presence of 50 of their closest family and friends with Amie’s brother officiating the intimate ceremony.
The party was picked up by a big red London double-decker to the newlyweds’ favourite restaurant, Lumi.
“It was really important to Jimmy and I that the food and wine were a standout, and Lumi did not disappoint,” says Amie.
“We watched one of Sydney’s biggest summer storms roll in from within the safety of the glass restaurant, and it was wild and perfect. It was relaxed, caffeinated, delicious and with all of those who matter most to us.”

The bride wore a gold crown made by a prop maker for their shows.
James was every bit the handsome groom with a tailored suit from InStitchu.
The couple met in school when they were 17 and have been together ever since.
“I wore no shoes, so as to be consistent with the rest of my life, never been a show girl!” laughs Amie.
“I gave Lola the word ‘English forest’ and she blew my mind with the enchanted, midsummer night’s dream magic that she created,” praises Amie of Lola Mai Floral Styling.
“We managed to block out the noise of what our wedding ‘should’ look like, and paid attention to how we wanted to do our day.”
