Helen Minogue and Colin Geddes selflessly dedicated part of their wedding day to murdered bride-to-be Stephanie Scott.
Ms Scott was allegedly killed on Easter Sunday in 2015 and was due to be married the same day as Helen and Colin, both aged 30, on April 11. “It was an important part of our day to remember Stephanie Scott and her fiancée,” says Helen, an emergency nurse. “We did this by having a dedicated yellow flower arrangement and a one-minute prayer and reflection for her prior to the commencement of our ceremony.”
They married with an elegant country wedding at Lindenwarrah Gardens at Milwah, Victoria on a perfectly sunny day. “A beautiful touch to the end of the ceremony was having a local bag-piper play as we walked down the aisle — a surprise to my Scottish groom,” smiles Helen.
The bride says the gardens location with a priest to marry the pair was a compromise. “It was important to me to get married in the Catholic Church but I knew Colin [a farmer] wasn’t that excited for a church wedding,” she says. “We were very lucky to achieve both our dreams with this by having a Catholic priest who was more than happy to marry us outside.”

Helen sourced her classic low-back gown from Jack & Jill Bridal and her accessories were from Fletcher & Grace.
Colin took a family heirloom diamond into the team at Michael Hill to create Helen’s engagement ring.
The bridesmaid’s gorgeous soft pink gowns with lace detail were purchased from Swish Clothing.
“Perfect venue, perfect weather, beautiful family and friends to help share the day,” Helen says of their wedding.
