Christie and Scott married on February 3, 2018 at Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley – where their relationship first began! Christie says she had all but given up on love when she met Scott at a concert in the NSW wine region. The glazier quickly restored her faith in “happily ever after”.
“Scotty and I were very different to your normal 37- and 47-year-old newly engaged couple looking to wed,” explains Christie. “We love a good time – like, a very good time – we love fun, we love to joke, we love to entertain and we love to be different.”
The pair made sure that was reflected at their fun Hunter Valley wedding day with their 90 guests and three children. “I went on a mission from wedding planning day one to find the best of the best, unique, fun and crazy vendors that are also highly regarded in the industry, had excellent reviews and suit our non-traditional fun lifestyle.”
“Everything was perfect on the day, we did a live raffle during the ceremony to choose the witnesses, we hid our wedding rings under the guests chairs in the ceremony, we had so much humour, fun and love and all the guests felt a part of our special day,” smiles the bride.

The best advice Christie received on the morning of the wedding was to take a few moments alone to stand in front of the mirror with her wedding gown on before the “craziness” of the day ensued. “I did this on my wedding day and loved it,” she says.
Christie lost over 25 kilograms in eight months – allowing her to fit into this gorgeous blush pink size 12 gown she found on sale.
The couple exchanged rings from Michael Hill Jeweller.
Christie and Scott made sure even their wedding photos reflected their fun personality.
“Three months later we were dating, our three beautiful children were blending well and life was great,” recalls Christie of their early relationship.
“Scott was this dapper, happy, friendly man I met in the Hunter Valley at a concert on the green,” explains Christie.
We didn’t have much budget left for favours, so last minute we ordered 200 test tubes with cork lids online and filled them with different alcohol and placed stickers on them,” the bride says of their favours for guests.
