From the first night she met Josh, Kayla’s friends knew she’d found the one.
“My friends were messing around calling me Kayla McCoy, how right they were,” Kayla recalls.
Sharing mutual friends, she and Josh had been to many of the same parties, but never met.
“Josh had been eyeing me off for three years, however, I was always in a relationship,” Kayla explains.
Once that relationship was over, Kayla discovered her perfect man had been there all along.
“I finally noticed this gorgeous, tall man with a cracker smile,” she says of Josh.
“Our relationship went from strength to strength and I just really bloody loved spending time with him.”
After popping the question at Sydney’s Lunar Park, where they first met, Josh and Kayla began planning their country autumn wedding.
The couple chose Centennial Vineyards in Bowral for their May 5, 2018 wedding, celebrating alongside 90 family and friends.
“It is such a naturally stunning venue which you can pretty well leave untouched,” the bride says.
“Management here is professional, friendly and very practiced in running weddings and this really showed on the day!”
The couple was surrounded by the turning autumn leaves at their outdoor ceremony, before heading inside the rustic venue for the evening celebrations.
Looking back, there is nothing Kayla would change about their country autumn wedding.
“At the end of the day, no matter what happens, you will be married to your best friend.”

Josh’s proposal took Kayla by surprise. “I was so unaware of what was ahead that I’d never gotten out of my pyjama top from the night before!” she says. “We ventured into the city for the day. We got seafood from our favourite fish and chip shop, and revisited Lunar Park, where we met. Josh told me his deep hopes for us, he expressed how much he respects and adores me. He said ‘will you marry me?’ And I said ‘100 per cent YES’.”
