The atmosphere was electric the day Christine Freeburn and Paul Miles met playing Guitar Hero.
The network engineer and health administrator were introduced by Paul’s best friend and Christine’s sister. “There was an instant connection between the two of us as we duelled in Guitar Hero that day,” smiles Christine, 30, with Paul, 31. “We went on our first date the following day, and have been inseparable ever since.”
Following travel and a proposal in the new home they built together, the Sydney couple married at their rustic garden wedding on November 8, 2015 in front of 80 guests. They chose Opera Point at Sydney Opera House for their outdoor ceremony, later celebrating a reception in the venue’s luxury marquee. “Our goal was to transport guests… to a rustic garden-luxe setting, which turned out so beautifully on the day, and represented our taste as a couple along with the beauty of Sydney,” explains the bride.
Christine wore a figure-hugging Vera Wang gown that she was almost as in love with as her husband-to-be! “The first moment I saw this dress I fell in love with it,” says the bride. “I knew it was the one, and it was the easiest decision I made for this wedding.”

“I wanted something soft, flowy and comfortable for my bridesmaids to be wearing for the whole day, and these dresses ticked all the boxes for us,” says Christine.
The couple enlisted a wedding stylist to transform their outdoor venue into a luxe boho space.
“We approach every moment of our lives as a team with so much love and support for one another, and that’s what makes our relationship a winning combination,” smiles Christine.
The newlyweds honeymooned in New York, fulfilling a travel dream for the groom.
The couple spent their wedding night at InterContinental Sydney Double Bay.
