The glitz and glamour of the art deco era was the inspiration behind Pamela Ghosn and Triffon Loizides’ big day.
The Sydney couple were together for more than nine years before they walked down the aisle in their Great Gatsby-inspired nuptials.
The art deco wedding was also a celebration of the pair’s two cultures coming together – Pamela, 28, is Lebanese and Triffon, also 28, is of Greek descent. “It can be fun and easy to blend the cultures together,” Pamela says.
The couple wed at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church in Kingsford on October 10, 2015 in front of 280 friends and family. “Triffon’s parents got married here 30 years ago and, as his dad passed away a few years ago, it was a nice way to honour him,” Pamela says.
Romance was dialled-up for the couple’s 1920s-themed reception at Conca D’oro in Riverwood. Pamela says from the black, white and red theme to the cake and beautiful flowers, everything was styled with the glamorous era in mind.
“I am naturally a creative person by heart with a theatrical background so I never wanted a traditional wedding and Triffon felt the same way,” she says.
“I’ve always loved classic looks with a twist or just really fashion-forward options, so taking my love of movies like Amelie and The Great Gatsby I knew art-deco and the ’20s were my inspo points for our special day.”

A traditional Lebanese band arrived at the house in the morning and performed again at the couple’s reception. “From my house and the reception entrance to staying all night; they really made everyone enjoy the Lebanese music and culture,” Pamela says.
