While many of us choose suppliers based on their reviews and selecting the best that money can buy, advocates for supporting local businesses, Therese and Luke chose local suppliers for their wedding day.
“We used all local suppliers and vendors. Our florist and celebrant had done one wedding before our big day and it was our videographer’s first wedding,” explains Therese.
“Supporting local is very important to us and we wanted to make their dreams come true while they created ours.”
The couple, both aged 27, met at a local watering hole and four years later Luke popped the question in a romantic proposal while they were vacationing in Thailand.
Upon their return, they surprised guests who came to their ‘engagement party’ by getting married instead! “We planned an engagement party and surprised our guests by getting married. Some of your guests already knew but the majority was surprised,” laughed the bride.
“It was such an amazing experience and was so exciting to watch them arrive and realise they were attending our wedding instead!”
The outdoor surprise wedding was on June 8, 2019, at River View Island, an up and coming venue right on the river.
