This couple are in for some fun wedding anniversaries, and not just because their day turned out so perfectly.
“We got married on April Fools day – no joke!” laughs Megan Stone, 30, who married Dylan Bett, 28 on April 1, 2016.
The country couple, who first met through a mutual friend, chose a private “oasis” in their hometown Swan Hill, Victoria, to celebrate their vintage garden wedding with 120 guests.
The style was vintage with a hint of boho; bright floral bouquets providing an energising contrast against the greenery of the property. “We had minimal decorations as the garden was enough in itself,” describes Megan. “Festoon lighting and chandeliers lit up at night and provided a warm and cozy atmosphere to dance the night away.”
Megan admits she had a few stressful moments in the lead up to the autumn affair, doubting whether their choices would work in real life. But she needn’t have worried! Everything came together beautifully and looking back, she says, “we’re pretty proud of how our wedding turned out.”
It was a relaxed and easygoing day which the bride says is what they’d wished for.
“We were surrounded by enormous amounts of love and laughter all day and night. What more could anyone want?”

“All flowers used were artificial,” explains Megan. “I wanted to be able to keep my bouquet as well as give my bridesmaids a beautiful gift to keep forever.”
All dressed in white, Megan and her girls were the perfect canvas to feature their showstopping bouquets.
“Our venue was amazing,” praises Megan.
When Megan discovered this layered Martian Liana wedding gown had dainty polka dots through the lace – it was hers!
“We had our photos beforehand around various locations in Swan Hill and then were able to enjoy the whole night with our friends and family” says Megan.
“Drew and Maddy (of Run Wild Photography) made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera,” praises the bride.
