Congrats to this couple who have won a place in our 2019 Wedding of the Year comp!
They are in the running to win a luxury second honeymoon at Heritance Aarah Maldives.
It was only natural that flight attendant Rebecca and pilot Salah would jet overseas for their romantic garden wedding.
“We knew we wanted to elope and we both love traveling, so when we saw photos of Cappadocia, Turkey, and how magical it looked every morning with the 100-plus hot air balloons we knew it was just the right place to start our fairytale,” explains Rebecca, 31.
She and Salah, 34, met on a flight to Los Angeles and there was an “instant spark”.
For their destination wedding, bride Rebecca wanted a style that was going to suit the beautiful surrounds of their venue – the Museum Hotel, Cappadocia.
“I wanted it to look whimsical and romantic,” she says.
“I wore a gown I designed with Bridal Secrets in Parramatta, a natural quartz crown and blue shoes. All my jewellery was personalised yet understated.”
The couple describe their romantic garden wedding on October 15, 2018 as a dream come true.
“It was a true fairytale, one day of pure love, just us two expressing exactly what we meant to each other and incorporating our passion for travel into the most special moment of our lives,” Rebecca says.

The couple chose Cappadocia, a central Turkish region renowned for its incredible landscape, for their destination wedding.
Salah went all out when he popped the question. “When I arrived home there were candles leading down the hallway to our living room and a set up of my candles, red roses, champagne, a lasting bouquet rose and a sign that said ‘will you marry me?’,” Rebecca recalls. “He made the most beautiful speech then got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife.”
