Inspirational dads were behind the smiles of Rachel Menhennitt and Ray Nordien on their classic wedding day.
The pair, aged 31 and 30 respectively, were married in the presence of 120 guests on March 28, 2015 in Dundas Valley, NSW.
“My dad was in a workplace accident when I was four and it left him in a wheelchair; this has never stopped him and he was there to take me down the aisle,” explains Rachel. “Ray’s dad has fought for years to still be with us and used every bit of strength to be there for our day. They are our inspirations.”
The pair met while working for the same company in different states. But after meeting at a conference Ray was quick to transfer to Brisbane to chase his new love. “Over the next five years we purchased our first home in Brisbane and then moved down to Sydney due to the illness of his father,” says Rachel.
Their ceremony at Lauriston House was followed by an elegant reception at the same venue. Guests were treated to the perfect memento from the day. “We had given them plastic photo bookmark holders for the Photobooth pictures which included a small poem in them,” smiles Rachel.

The bride wore a Maggie Sottero with delicate floral bouquets by Botanical Designs.
“I loved every minute of my day,” glees Rachel.
Silver Cloud Wedding Cars provided vintage Bentleys for the day.
The pair honeymooed in an AirBnB apartment in Hawaii, on the 28th floor, with mountain and sea views.
