The fireworks over Newcastle weren’t the only spark ignited at a New Year’s Eve party in 2013.
“We met through a mutual friend,” Kieran says of the night he ran into Kristie. “We both knew there was a spark.
“We came into contact with each other fairly often over the next year.”
Eventually, they began dating, later getting engaged while on holiday in Spain.
For their formal wedding, they chose beautiful Tocal Homestead in Tocal, in NSW’s Hunter Valley.
“We wanted to create a very classic style but have a big party celebration, so our priorities were simple; timeless outfits, decorations, music and plenty of time for dancing,” Kieran explains of the February 2, 2019 celebrations.
The formal wedding was also brought forward six months as Kristie’s father is unwell, ensuring he could be a part of the day.
“Photos and videography were of the highest importance to us so that we had as many keepsakes of the day as possible,” the groom says of the photos, perfectly captured by Ben Howland.
“The day was perfect.”

Kristie wore a beautiful dress from Perfect Day Bridal, combined with elegant Badgley Mischka heels.
“We got engaged in Seville, Spain, on a rooftop overlooking a church,” Kieran recalls.
Sprout Catering put on a delicious spread for the couple and their guests.
“Kristie and I consider ourselves pretty down to earth people, and we definitely enjoy the simple things in life – friends, family and living in the moment.”
The couple’s elegant naked cake was created by Michelle The Cake Chef.
