Emma, 28, and Protik, 35, met as housemates at their home in Geelong.
When Pro one day announced he was moving out, it was for one reason only: he doesn’t date housemates. So from there they became a couple and seven years later were engaged.
They married at their cultural fusion wedding on September 14, 2018 at Fenix Events overlooking the Yarra River in Melbourne.
“When planning our wedding the one thing we wanted for it to be for everyone was fun… throw one hell of a party,” explains Emma. “It was also very important to both of us to make it a fusion of both our cultures with western and Indian influence. We did this by having the most vibrant flowers, we exchanged garlands and rings at our ceremony.”
The couple’s cake was a mix of Indian henna design with a quirky twist, recalls Emma. “Our family was on the top – Pro and myself with our fur baby Felix the cat.”
Big fans of hip hop, they also had the dance floor pumping well into the night courtesy of Mercury DJ Hire. “We also had a nice mix of Indian music which got young and old alike dancing,” smiles the bride.

The bride purchased her incredible gown from Bluebell Bridal.
Anthony Cribbes married Emma and Pro at the stunning Melbourne location.
“Our wedding was a beautiful combination of western meets Indian culture but also our own personalities too,” says the bride.
“We even went to our favourite bar in Melbourne to take pictures and played giant Jenga,” recalls Emma.
