An outdoor wedding on a winter’s day might sound risky, but Sydney turned it up for this couple’s July 22, 2017 event.
Elissa and Tom, aged 28 and 27 respectively, met in the Hunter Valley through a mutual friend. Neither expected it to go anywhere – both focused on finishing university and beginning their careers. But, as Tom describes, they slowly came together like “pieces of a puzzle”.
A couple of years into the relationship, Tom surprised Elissa with a proposal during a picnic by Sydney’s Harbour Bridge. Several months later they married at their romantic Sydney wedding.
Their ceremony with 80 people at Observatory Hill Park was followed by a reception at The Grounds of Alexandria. “We were blessed with each other, and took a gamble on an outdoor wedding in winter,” explains Tom. “The day turned out perfectly and we had a great time at the wedding and reception.”

Winter? What winter? Sydney’s blue skies dominated the July wedding day.
“Spend time making a clear vision of the day first, then work towards it,” is the groom’s advice for those planning a wedding. “Keep an eye on the details, as they will make the day perfect.”
The groom wore a dapper suit from professionals InStitchu who proud themselves on creating “dream suits”.
Two Peaches Photography made sure to capture plenty of candid images of the happy couple.
The couple’s reception venue also provided the cake and catering – a selection of share plates for guests to tuck into!
