Josh and Eden’s Fig Tree Restaurant wedding was a celebration of love, family, and the beauty of merging cultures. Their journey, from their chance encounters to a fairytale proposal and romantic wedding, is a sincere testament to the deep connection they share.
After months of pursuing Eyrydice (Eden) on Instagram, Josh finally met her at a Valentine’s Day event. Although their initial meeting didn’t go as planned, their connection grew during a memorable sunset walk along the Bondi to Coogee path. Three years later, Josh proposed against a breathtaking sunrise, capturing the moment with a surprise picnic.
Their dream wedding took place at Fig Tree Restaurant in Byron Bay, a venue that perfectly combines the beauty of the Australian landscape with the serene ocean views. The stunning Fig Tree held sentimental value as it marked their first holiday together. The attentive and accommodating service provided by Fig Tree Restaurant made it the standout vendor of their wedding, ensuring a flawless experience for all.
The wedding day seamlessly blended Greek Orthodox and Catholic traditions, officiated under the grand Fig Tree. Greek ceremonial traditions, such as the ring swaps, exchange of crowns, and lighting of candles, symbolised the unity of their love and the coming together of their families.
Following the heartfelt ceremony, guests were treated to a cocktail hour by the pool area, surrounded by the majestic Fig Tree. The reception unfolded in the elegant Reception Hall of the Fig Tree Restaurant, with guests seated at tables eagerly awaiting an evening of celebration.
As night fell, dancefloor beckoned, promising lively moments. Throughout the night, guests were free to wander to the Fig Tree area, just steps away, and even enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool, creating an atmosphere of enchantment and relaxation.
Discover your perfect wedding venueWe wanted a venue that had an outstanding view and a nice colour palate of white against greens, browns and creams. The Fig Tree Restaurant was exactly the fit as it has timber VJ panelling inside accompanied with rich greenery along the windows and a full 180 degree of the Byron Bay coastline.
