A plane trip from Australia to Indonesia was all it took for Tingting and Sean to go from almost-strangers to the best of friends.
“She and I went on a study tour to Indonesia in 2015,” explains Sean, 23.
“Although we’d never spoken much before the trip, we were the best of friends by the time the plane landed in Jakarta. Looking back, there’s no way things could have ended up anyway other than with us together.”
A dinner date followed back home in Australia, helping Sean and Tingting, 22, grow their relationship into something more.
“Its been almost three years since then now and we’ve never voluntarily spent a night apart. I guess she liked me back,” Sean says.
The couple held their modern wedding in Brisbane, combining Eastern and Western traditions.
“We also tried to combine what we have devoted our lives to – the army – in our guard of honour with our friends at the reception,” Sean says.
Secluded venue Bundaleer Rainforest Gardens provided a beautiful backdrop to the ceremony, before the reception at Customs House in the city.
“We were able to combine customs and traditions, and sharing this with our family and friends from all over Australia was more than we could ask for.”

“Whether it was fate or luck, the rainforest became literally a rainforest with the cyclone brewing in the north. But this only made it more special,” Sean says of the damp reception.
“Customs House was a decision easily made with the fantastic location, service, and backdrop against the iconic building and Brisbane River,” Sean says.
Sarah Collyer Music provided tunes for the big day, while Snaptured Photo Booth added to the fun at the reception.
