Angela and Reece were treated to a double rainbow at their vintage rockabilly wedding – a sign something great will happen and that one good thing will lead to another! How fitting.
The Brisbane pair met at their local pub, the Story Bridge Hotel, when Angela, now 32, invited Reece, 29, to dance. She had no intentions of seeing him afterward but Reece, in Angela’s words, “hung around” – even after she insisted she wasn’t romantically interested in him.
Reece persisted and a friendship grew over three months. Finally, Reece asked if he could attend church with Angela’s family. From there, the friendship transformed into romance. “When the service was over the pastor lead us in prayer. During prayer Reece placed his hand on my back and there was an incredible warmth that spread through my body from his hand and I instantly ‘liked this guy’,” smiles Angela.
They married at Gabbinbar Homestead in Middle Ridge with 54 guests on November 10, 2017. “Reece showed me that I am worth so much more than what I’d been to anyone before,” explains the bride. “Never have I had the respect from anyone that I do from Reece.”

Jacaranda trees were a lovely addition to the couple’s spring wedding.
There are plenty of quality options for wedding transport in the south-east Queensland region.
“God’s given me someone to laugh with, cry with, pray with and annoy!” smiles Angela.
A double rainbow is a sign of good luck!
The bride sourced her “fake” flowers from Just Fake It Bouquets in Sydney.
Guests could take a bag full of candy to take home as a thank you.
