When it came to their wedding, Danushi and Dylan agreed on three priorities: the day had to feature touches of Sri Lankan culture to pay homage to Danushi’s ethnicity, be a fun night for all involved and be romantic to start their married life.
The 29-year-old couple wed at Lauriston House on a sunny February 15 day in 2019 with a romantic wedding that ticked all their boxes. Sri Lankan culture featured throughout the day with the newlyweds lighting a traditional Sri Lankan oil lamp to symbolise lighting up their lives and the union of the two families, alongside plenty of traditional music and dances.
Endless fun was had, mainly thanks to the couple’s ‘Bride Squad’ made up of university friends shared by the couple. All members of the Bride Squad walked down the aisle at the ceremony and held honorary jobs throughout the festivities.
The couple’s choice in music added that romantic element they were after. Danushi walked down the aisle to a Hayley Reinhart cover of ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’, and later danced with her groom to ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ from the movie Captain Fantastic before delighting guests with a flash mob – the perfect dance floor icebreaker.
