When it came time to plan their wedding, Daniel and Michael agreed they wanted it to be an experience that looked and felt uniquely ‘them’.
“One thing we always promised each other was that we were going to do our wedding our way. We kept the foundations, or ‘common traditions’, in place but altered them to suit us,” explains the newlyweds.
As the grooms wanted the wedding to be as big a celebration as possible, the night before the wedding was spent with several of the mixed-gender wedding party in a hotel room. And, to relax everyone before the ceremony, pre-wedding celebrations kicked off with food, music and bubbles, on the morning of April 5, 2019, with the wedding party and immediate family.
At their lavish ceremony held at Metropolis Events, Daniel and Michael walked down the aisle separately accompanied by their parents. As a special surprise for all in attendance, they had their union officiated by celebrant and star of The Real Housewives of Melbourne, Gina Liano.
“We wanted to treat our guests, as our way of saying thank you for the many years of love, support and friendship.”
And treat their guests they did, with plenty more surprises throughout the night including fireworks, confetti and an incredible four-tiered cake.

Daniel and Michael each had two outfits for the festivities. For the ceremony, the pair donned formal black tuxedos before changing into something more ‘party-like’ for the reception.
“Our wedding party was made up of a handful of people closest to us. It didn’t matter what gender they were, we just wanted to have those special people standing by our side.”
To celebrate and remember grandparents who had passed, Daniel and Michael lit special remembrance candles at their ceremony.
True Story Wedding Films ensured all special moments were captured on film.
