The love between Angel and Ronald was unstoppable despite several challenges in their relationship.
The couple, aged 29 and 28 respectively, met through work and began dating. “Realising the vast difference in our cultures – Ronald being Indian and I Taiwanese – we knew we needed to work hard,” says Angel. They also spent a lot of time in different cities due to work. “But we conquered them all!”
A grand surprise proposal in the Maldives was the beginning of their plan to marry on July 28, 2018 in their home town of Brisbane, which they organised from their current home in Melbourne. “We only made it back to Brisbane twice over the year of planning, but everything magically fell into place, with the help of our venue coordinator and wedding stylist,” smiles the bride.
Highlights at their elegant city wedding included the Chinese-Indian mixed rituals in the morning with family, and the traditional church ceremony at the Cathedral of St. Stephen. The newlyweds and their 230 guests celebrated afterwards at Brisbane City Hall.
“What a journey it has been over the last five years – we’ve lived in three cities, been blessed with great jobs, had countless arguments and laughter, and have lived every moment of our lives together so far to the fullest,” beams Angel.

“I had a lot of help from Ronald with buying a saree online, especially a bridal silk saree, as I’ve never worn one before,” explains the bride.
“Ronald being an engineer drew a sketch of my wedding dress for me to have it made,” says Angel.
“Ronald loves his R.M. Williams boots and knew he just had to wear them for the occasion,” says Angel.
“Our wedding was the perfect union of two completely different cultures – and double the fun,” smiles Angel.
