If you think finding the love of your life while cruising through the Pacific Islands sounds romantic – meet Liana Dall’Alba and Aaron Nixon.
These two met during exactly that and upon return did everything in their power to make things work, despite living apart. “After 10 months I moved to Townsville from Cairns to be with him and another 12 months later he proposed,” says Liana, 26. And it was a pretty special proposal at that.
Aaron, 23, took Liana to Sea World while they were staying on the Gold Coast. Liana is a confessed lover penguins and dolphins! “We arrived at Sea World and he pulled me aside and told me today I would be swimming with the dolphins,” she explains. “I have wanted to swim with the dolphins since I was little so I burst into tears.” Once the venture was over, Aaron dropped to one knee and popped the big question.
Their traditional wedding in Cairns on August 30, 2015, included a church ceremony and ballroom reception. Aaron was the groom every bride hopes for. “Aaron wanted to be involved in all the decisions so together we chose our colour theme, church readings, decorations and all the other details involved in the day,” says Liana.

Liana sourced her amazing strapless gown from Irene Costa’s Divine Bridal Cairns.
“We both wanted to have a traditional wedding, but we wanted it to really reflect our personalities,” says Liana.
Liana’s bridesmaids found their shoes at Williams and accessories at Myer.
The couple headed to Thailand for their honeymoon.
