Living together in a small share house was the start of something special for Melbourne’s Drew Parry and Sarah Lugton.
“We were together for about seven years before I plucked up the courage to propose,” Drew, 29, explains. “The proposal eventually took place in South Africa on top of a mountain overlooking the range. I had planned to do a balloon ride over a national park but the weather had other ideas.”
In keeping with their personalities, the pair were keen on a relaxed and laid-back celebration.
Sarah, 31 and Drew held their teepee wedding on a private homestead at Drummond in central Victoria on April 11, 2015 in front of 100 friends and family.
They enlisted wedding planner and stylist Swans Lane to add a touch of whimsy to the country celebrations, as well as treating guests to live music from The White Tree.
“We spent the whole weekend at the property so that gave us a chance to reflect and relax,” Drew says.
“Along with the help of a lot of people we planned as much as we could so we could really enjoy the day.”

Groom Drew made sure he stood out in a grey peak-lapel suit from Oscar Hunt, teamed with navy vest and white bow tie.
The couple’s teepee came up beautifully with vintage furniture and props from Swans Lane.
Four shades of blue in the bridesmaids’ dresses complemented gorgeous bride Sarah.
Petals, flowers and rustic accessories adorned the couple’s garden ceremony.
The couple’s teepee reception put a bohemian spin on the traditional marquee celebration.
“I believe the key components to a fantastic wedding are a good ceremony, good food and music, great photographer and a planner to oversee all the little things,” Drew says.
